At Peter Van Gaale & Sons Construction Inc., our tradition of building quality custom homes began many years ago, when our Opa (Grandfather) set out for America from his native Holland, accompanied by his wife and five children. Jan Van Gaale, an accomplished carpenter by trade, arrived in California in 1954, bringing with him a custom of old world ethics and an attention to craftsmanship and detail. Jan formed Van Gaale Construction Inc. in 1957. The company team ultimately consisted of a father, daughter, and three sons. Paul and Jan (the grandsons), tagged along at a young age, and began working as soon as they were able.
Also, having become a licensed architect, Jan designed and drafted most of the homes our family company has built with pride through the years. We have endured a long run of successful contracting in the region, building a great number of the first custom homes in the surrounding exclusive areas of the Temecula / Murrieta Valley including: De Luz, La Cresta / Tenaja, and Wine Country.
Eventually, Jan Van Gaale decided to focus his efforts primarily on the import and sale of European antiques, opening the Dutch Mill Trading Co. At this juncture, eldest son Pete continued forward forming Peter Van Gaale & Sons Construction Inc. in 1971. Keeping with family tradition, Pete worked side by side with his two sons, Paul and Jan, for many years.
Brothers Paul and Jan Van Gaale are proud to continue this tradition today, offering the best of what years of hands-on experience has to offer. Being third generation builders in the valley, we strive hard to maintain the principles of quality, honesty, and integrity our family has instilled in us.
